Ash floors years ago was very popular. Here is this home, use to have a small wall dividing second floor to third floor. Owner wants to repair missing floor with same ash flooring and kind not living a strait line. Even we got same wood “Ash” still a slight difference in color. We fix the sub-floor with pieces left over of boards. Besides the slight difference in color, repair was almost noticeable.
How Does It Work?
Boards had a size of 2-1/2 inch “Standard” size back on the day. We got a supplier what have it in 3-1/4 inch. Not same size but it worked in our advantage. Due a previous water damage, some boards had a slight difference in size, so we cut it accordingly.
How to do the right repairing job?
When doing a repair in boards with different sizes and sub-floors kind missing due a correction of “House side sinking down” is not a easy task. Me and Edwin managed doing almost in the entire day of work
